Community Response

Drivers are noticing, sharing stories, and asking how to bring this plate home.

The Kansas Down Syndrome Awareness plate continues to create visibility across the state. Families are spotting the plate on highways, hearing from neighbors, and even fielding questions from other states about how they can launch something similar.

"I love to see these plates along the interstate. Down syndrome awareness everywhere. I've gotten several comments on my plate and a few notes under my wipers expressing love for a family member or friend with DS." Becca Poland on Facebook
"Please help bring this to Idaho! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️" Lisa Clark Oehler on Facebook
"It's a process. I expect it would be similar to Kansas. A legislature needs to present a bill, it has to be passed in both houses, the governor has to approve. We had to have a list of 250 people that intended on buying it and had to put $5,000 down. I was lucky, my very good friend and oldest son's godmother is one of our senators. It was worth it but a very long process." Shella, NCKDSS
